  5. Discussion of the Internet, TCP/IP, Usenet, and topics related to
  6. them (within reason) from a primarily new user's perspective.

  8. Guidelines:

  10. This echo is loosely moderated on the basis that we are all mature,
  11. intelligent adults that know when we are posting off-topic, and, therefore
  12. know better than to do it.
  13.  
  14. Rules:
  15.  
  16. 1.  Be polite, or use netmail.
  17.  
  18. 2.  Responding to mistaken UUCP (or messages otherwise intended for the
  19. true Internet) is off-topic.
  20.  
  21. 3.  If you must play moderator, do it in netmail.  Playing moderator in the
  22. echo (at the expense of all the participants) is off-topic.
  23.  
  24. 4.  Discussions of illegal activities (i.e., pirate ftp sites) are
  25. off-topic.  In addition, the topic of adult ftp sites has been declared
  26. off-topic since it is currently in a legal grey area and often causes
  27. flame wars to erupt.
  28.  
  29. 5.  The echomail tagname (INTERNET) will not be changed, so don't bother
  30. discussing options.  For those of you that insist the echo needs to be
  31. changed, please check the UFGATE echo and note that they have the same
  32. problem.
  33.  
  34. 6.  As per Fidonet customs, commercial posts are prohibited.  Posting a
  35. blatantly commercial post is grounds for removal from the echo.
